About Us

The University of Texas Sailing Club is dedicated to fostering a community of passionate adventurers. We provide racing opportunities for more experienced sailors, hands on instruction for beginners, and an outdoorsy escape for anyone in-between.

The first sailing club at UT was founded in the late 1960’s. The club consisted of a fleet of 420 type dinghies housed at the Austin Yacht Club.  In 1970, the Sailing Club and Sailing Team split into two separate entities. Over the next several decades, UTSC moved to numerous marinas around Lake Travis accruing experience on a wider variety of boats. Many of our members would continue sailing after graduation and a number went on to become members of AYC.

In 2012, the club relocated from the Sail & Ski Yacht Club & Marina back to AYC where we are currently located. With the donation of a new J/24 in 2015, UTSC was able to bring the Jolly Bevo I circuit team into the club.

Our Fleet

The UTSC fleet is constantly growing. We currently own 16 boats and are looking to expand.
